A newly installed mosaic surface looks marvelous regardless of the angle at which it is viewed. But, when left unattended over time, the tiled surface will accumulate debris like dust or scum and end up looking lackluster. Don't fret; just follow our simple instructions and you'll see that mosaic tiles are easy to care for and your mosaic tiles will continue to exhibit it's long lasting beauty.
Cleaning Glass Mosaic Tiles
Glass tiles are extremely durable and impervious, which makes it very easy to care for. To keep them looking like new, all you have to do is to clean it using a solution of equal part water and vinegar. After spraying your mixture onto the tiles, let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before scrubbing it with a soft brush. If you don't have a brush, just make sure you avoid using a rough object so you don't end up leaving scratch marks on your tiles. Once you're done scrubbing, rinse it with clean water and wipe and dry it with clean soft towel.
Cleaning Stainless Steel Mosaic Tiles
Like glass, stainless steel tiles are also very durable and easy to clean. Since stainless steel mosaic tiles are usually made from similar grades of steel as stainless steel appliances, you can use simply use the same stainless steel cleaner as you do for your appliances. If that's not available then use a pH neutral cleaner or a solution of water and mild soap. We discourage the use of any abrasive cleaner or scouring pads as that will scratch the surface and cause the tiles to oxidize.
Cleaning Natural Stone Mosaic Tiles
Natural stone tiles will be somewhat more difficult to clean as compared to the others due to the fact that are porous and stains can get inside. You can avoid this problem by applying an appropriate sealer onto the tiles post installation. When cleaning these tiles, you will want to use a pH neutral cleaners. Do not use acidic or alkaline cleaners as they can open the pours of the stone and ultimately changing the color of your tiles.
Cleaning Shell Mosaic Tiles
To keep the beauty of the tile, shell mosaic tiles must be clean regularly. Use only a mild detergent cleaner and damp sponge to clean your mosaic. We recommend DuPont StoneTech professional stone and tile cleaner to main a clean surface. Using acid, alkaline and solvent-based cleaners might damage and discolor the tiles and grouts. Do not use any wax on any part of the tile. Clean promptly and do not let stains sit on mosaic's surface for a long period.
